200 historic photos of Berkeley Springs and surrounding area are included, dating from the Civil War (a Matthew Brady photo of David Hunter Strother) to the 1974 photos of the Washington Hotel fire by Dwan McBee. The book is a combination of well-selected photographs and informative captions based on extensive historic research.

Jeanne Mozier and Betty Lou Harmison are co-authors of this book. They are a pair of West Virginia History Heroes with a passion for their adopted homeplace of Berkeley Springs that, combined, totals nearly a century of collecting, interpreting and writing about local history.
